Dr. Nessler is a sports medicine physical therapist and the founder and developer of the ViPerform AMI™, ViPerform AMI™ RTSport, ACL Play It Safe and Run Safe programs. Trent holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, a masters in physical therapy, and a doctorate with a focus in biomechanics and motor learning. Dr. Nessler has been a sports medicine physical therapist for 23+ years and internationally recognized expert in the area of injury prevention and movement assessment.

Trent is the founder and developer of the DorsaVi ViPerform AMI™ and DorsaVi ViPerform AMI™ RTSport (Return to Sport). The ViPerform AMI™ (Athletic Movement Index™), a computerized 3D movement analysis system that uses wearable sensor technology (dorsaVi™) to provide lab quality biomechanical data. ViPerform AMI™ is used to assess movement patterns which put athletes at risk for non-contact injuries and which negatively impact athletic performance. The ViPerform AMI™ RTSport combines the ViPerform AMI™ with on the field data to aid physicians, clinicians and teams in making a more comprehensive and informed RTSport decision for athletes returning from ACL, concussion and lower kinetic chain injuries. The ViPerform AMI™ has been used to assess more than 18,000 athletes by 375+ clinics, performance centers, professional teams and physicians throughout the US.

Dr. Nessler is also the founder and developer of the ACL Play It Safe and Run Safe Programs. The ACL Play It Safe and Run Safe Programs are progressive strengthening programs developed in collaboration with TheraBand®, Cramer® and Select Medical. These programs and apps were designed specifically to be performed by athletes at the conclusion of practice and directly improve biomechanical factors that lead to increase injury and decreased performance.

Dr. Nessler has developed a comprehensive certification for professionals and clinicians who use the ViPerform AMI™, published peer reviewed literature in the area of ACL injury prevention and athletic movement assessment as well as published a college textbook on this subject. Dr. Nessler is also a competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt and team physical therapist for several competitive BJJ teams.
