Timur Absalyamov is the Director of Research at the Sports Equity Lab at Stanford University. He holds a doctorate in economics and a master’s degree in sports ethics and integrity, bringing a rare combination of academic rigor and practical sports industry insight. Timur’s career spans research appointments at universities around the world and professional roles in club soccer, as well as work as an independent sports management consultant.

He is a recipient of numerous prestigious scholarships and awards, including the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, Fulbright Scholarship, Sverker Åström Foundation Scholarship, and the British Petroleum Scholarship (awarded four times). His areas of expertise include sports ethics, the intersection of sports and geopolitics, public funding of professional sports, and sustainability in sport.
