A native Oregonian, Tim grew up skiing and racing on Mt. Hood and around Bend, Oregon. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1983 and Northern Michigan University in 1992 with a Master’s in Exercise Science. As a cross country ski coach, he worked at the College of Idaho, Middlebury College, Dartmouth College, Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation, and Redmond High School. As a sport physiologist with U.S. Olympic Committee and he tested athletes from 22 Olympic sports and provided training recommendations to athletes and coaches. In addition, while at the USOC he traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe and documented the developmental stages and markers of endurance athletes capable of achieving international competitive excellence. He directed a strategic planning effort for a community ski area at Meissner Sno-park near Bend and led the construction of trails and parking expansion. He recently was co-curator of the ski history exhibit, Winter Comes: Oregon’s Nordic Ski History at the Deschutes Historical Museum in Bend, Oregon. He currently is Development Director for Every Kid Sports, a national non-profit organization headquartered in Bend, Oregon which provides financial assistance to low-income children to pay sports registration fees.
