Martin Coul,
Senior Contributor

Martin Coul is the founder of OTII and host of The Hushed®, a podcast that brings to light the stories men often don’t say—but should. Through lived experience and evidence-based insight, he helps athletes, coaches, schools, and organizations tackle the root causes of poor mental health and well-being across all stages of life.

His work confronts topics many avoid—men’s mental health, menopause, suicide prevention, and even death—reminding us that true performance, in sport and in life, begins with emotional balance, resilience, and honest conversation.

Before focusing on mental health, Martin was among the early pioneers who helped establish the smartphone industry and later contributed to disrupting global communications with Skype.

A certified ENSA Mental Health First Aider, Martin combines his professional expertise with a deeply personal commitment to prevention—having lost a parent to schizophrenia as a child and faced his own battles with depression and PTSD.

Originally from the UK, Martin now lives near Zurich, Switzerland, with his French wife and their adopted Italian dog, Louie—while proudly holding the unofficial title of best burger maker in town.
