Jamie Mitchell,
Senior Contributor

Jamie Mitchell is a former professional footballer, entrepreneur, and Co-Founder and CEO of EDGE Futures, a sports education and employability platform connecting sport, education, and employment.

After joining the academy systems at Rangers and Norwich City, Jamie built a professional career spanning more than 300 senior appearances across the UK. He competed at Scottish Premiership level, won a league title, scored more than 50 goals and received five Player of the Year awards before injury brought his playing career to an early end at age 29.

His transition out of professional sport shaped the work he does today. Jamie recognized that the resilience, leadership, communication, teamwork and discipline developed through elite sport could translate directly into successful professional environments. He went on to hold senior operational and commercial roles across banking, technology, media and sport before co-founding EDGE Futures with educational psychologist Dr Clare Daly.

Through EDGE Futures, Jamie is helping young athletes recognize, develop and demonstrate the transferable capabilities they gain through sport, connecting those skills with personalized education, employment and career pathways. His ambition is to ensure that every athlete, whether they reach the highest level or pursue a different path, can turn their sporting experience into an asset for life.
