Senior Contributor

Ildi (Ildiko) Varhelyi is a Vision Specialist and Neurocentric Health Practitioner with over 20 years of experience helping people move, feel, and perform at their best. She is the founder of Neurocentric Health and Fitness and developed the Six Pillars of Optimal Health approach. This holistic framework integrates the brain, body, and sensory systems—including the visual, balance, and proprioceptive systems— to improve movement efficiency, stability, and overall performance, creating healthier, more resilient athletes and supporting both performance and recovery.

Throughout her career, Ildi has guided athletes in enhancing performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation, as well as individuals in achieving general health and wellness goals, improving balance, reducing dizziness and vertigo, and optimizing overall body function. She is also an educator in health, wellness, emphasizing her signature pillars: mindfulness, breath, movement, nutrition, sleep, and sensory re-education.

A lifelong learner and former basketball player, Ildi is now an avid pickleball player, bringing her expertise in vision training, functional neurology, and movement therapy to the court. She launched her pioneering sports vision program at USOP NPC, helping players improve ball tracking, depth perception, reaction time, and coordination. Her vision training program also helps reduce injury risk, supporting players in performing safely and at their best.
