Dr. Peter Fadde,

Peter J. Fadde, Ph.D., is professor and director of the Learning Design and Technology graduate program at Southern Illinois University. Before earning his Ph.D., Dr. Fadde was Athletics Video Coordinator for 13 seasons at Purdue University.

Dr. Fadde researches training of perceptual and decision skills in high-speed, high-stress performance domains including military and sports.

His e-book The Sixth Tool: Training Baseball Pitch Recognition is available on Amazon. Dr. Fadde consults with major league baseball organizations and college baseball teams.

He is Chief Science Officer of gameSense Sports, LLC. His presentations and studies can be accessed via peterfadde.com

Peter originated the Expertise-Based Training (XBT) method that has been used to train expert situation awareness in domains ranging from sports to firefighting to classroom teaching.

He has developed patented computer software for baseball/softball pitch recognition and tennis stroke recognition and was named SIU’s Innovator-of-the-Year in 2013.
