Darren Worrell is St. Thomas University Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and South Florida Elite (SFE) Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Ambassador. He is an energetic young coach with excellent communication skills and extensive basketball background. His basketball coaching career started at Bristo Miami, a small private school in Miami. In addition, he coached in man AAU tournaments, helping several players go on to play college basketball

Currently as lead assistant at St. Thomas University Worrell has a vigorous role in game day preparation and management, recruiting, film preparation, and academic monitoring. In his first two years at St. Thomas University, he helped lead the Bobcats to a 22-10 record, Conference Runner Up, and National Tournament appearance. Both seasons the team placed 2nd in conference standings and receiving votes nationally.

Among Worrell’s coaching accomplishments are:

• Two 20+ wins seasons
• Two NAIA National Championship appearances Coached NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Honorable Mention All-American
• Team won three Consecutive District Championships
• Team won first Regional Championship

He is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, a USA Basketball Licensed Coach, and holds an MBA Sports Administration from St. Thomas University as well as a BS in Business from DeVry University.
