The Volleys also compete in the CEV Champions League made up of the best teams from all across Europe.

Cody was a two-time All-American at Princeton University, becoming the first Tiger player to ever earn an AVCA first- or second-team All-America honor. He then played professionally for one year in Switzerland, and three years for SVG Lüneburg in the north of Germany.

Cody competed for the Men's National Team in the summer of 2019 and was named Best Attacker at the 2019 NORCECA Champions Cup along with two silver medals that summer. He won the German Cup in 2020 and won his first German Championship Title in 2021, the second in 2022.

Cody made his first start for the senior USA Men’s National team in the summer of 2022 at the Volleyball Nations League, where the USA finished 2nd place. He also joined the team for the 2022 World Championships.

Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Cody has been swept up in the Olympic movement since he was small. His father, John Kessel, worked for USA Volleyball in numerous and varied roles for over 35 years.

Like his father, Cody is passionate about volleyball and hopes to pass on the lessons he has learned from his rich global volleyball experiences.

Cody’s new book: 11 Ways to Get an Edge, imparts lessons about the mental game, training, confidence, energy, technique, and other topics.
