KNEELING SNATCH
Learn the kneeling snatch from coach Bob Takano, USA weightlifting Hall-of-Famer and National team coach.
The athlete begins the movement by kneeling in front of a bar, lightly loaded. A snatch width grip is taken, the bar is position immediately next to the knees. The back is flat. The pull is initiated with a short hip extension and the arms continue the momentum by raising the elbows to the sides.
...
Once the fullest elbow flexion is achieved, the elbows drop down and the arms proceed to push the bar overhead to lockout. This movement isolates the action of the arms and reinforces the arm pathway at the conclusion of the movement.
