Rabbi, Educator, Author, and Mental Health Aid is SportsEdTV Contributor
With the sports world shifting attention to athletes’ mental health, SportsEdTV has added a key contributor on the subject of stigmas attached to the issue in adding Rabbi Shalom Hammer as a senior contributor.
“In recent times the sports world has been shocked by mental health issues of superstars, and we're pleased to add Rabbi Shalom Hammer to our contributors because he brings the sunshine of transparency to an issue that has stigmatized athletes as well as the general population," said Robert Mazzucchelli, Founder, and Chairman of SportsEdTV.
In 2019 Rabbi Shalom Hammer's daughter, Gila died by suicide. He decided to turn his tragic loss into a means of helping others in crisis, in Gila’s memory.
"Rabbi Hammer's attention to topics such as trauma, therapy, and suicide are so timely and so important that we're very enthused to spread his good work to our communities," added Victor Bergonzoli, CEO of SportsEdTV.
When became a certified MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) instructor he was the first person to deliver the course in Israel. Rabbi Shalom Hammer is a motivational lecturer for the Israel Defense Forces/TZAHAL and an educator in the Netiv conversion course of the IDF.
