step beyond the high pull of blocks in that it requires the lifter to catch the bar on the shoulders while descending into the full squat. The emphasis is on the full extension of the pull with immediate transition into the racking position. It also enables the lifter to focus on moving the feet from the pulling stance (directly under hips) to the receiving stance.
