FAQ

A forehand is a shot hit on the side of the body of the hand in which you hold the racquet. Imagine that you are hitting the ball with the palm of your hitting hand.

A forehand is a shot hit on the side of the body of the hand in which you hold the racquet. There are many techniques for hitting this shot, but all involve some kind of backswing, contact point and follow-through.

The primary difference is the side of the body on which you hit the ball (forehand = side of the body of the hand in which you hold the racquet, backhand = opposite side of the body of the hand in which you hold the racquet).

In today’s tennis game, Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal are viewed as great hitters of the forehand, but most top players today have powerful, effective forehands.
