DOUBLES CHARGE - CHIP & CHARGE. Jane Forman, former WTA Top-50 player, shows the doubles tactic of chipping and charging off the return of serve. Why chip and charge? When you hit the chip return, the ball will stay low and force your opponent to hit up and give an easy put away volley to your team. They may crack one off the low ball now and then, ...but the odds are in your favor. Only the most skilled player can consistently hit offensive balls off low slices - play the odds. If you see them struggling with the low chips, keep coming in. Just watch for the lob.
