have a good starting base and alignment with the basket. This helps controls your balance and power from your legs, which is needed for shooting accurate free throws. Your alignment to the basket will help you maintain a direct line between you and the basket. You want to make sure you have a good athletic stance, your feet are shoulder with apart with your shooting foot slightly in front of the other. Be sure to hold your ball in the shooters pocket with your shooting hand underneath the ball at a 90 degree angle. While preparing to shoot, you want to rise up using your legs while your arms are extending up to the basket shooting your free throw. Remember repetition and consistency will help you become a great free throw shooter.
