Naranhi seogi – parallel stance / Ap seogi – walking stance / Ap kubi – forward stance / Dwitkubi – back stance / Oreun and/or Wen seogi – right and/or left stance / Kkoa seogi – crossed stance / Beom seogi – tiger stance / Moa seogi – closed stance / Juchum seogi – riding stance / Hakdari seogi – crane stance / Kyotdari seogi – assisting stance / Ogeum seogi – crossed crane stance.

The above mentioned stances are 12. These are the main stances but the position of the legs can change and thus names and stances will change.

Ap seogi is the walking stance in Taekwondo. The distance between the rear and front foot is about 3 feet distance. It is the most commonly used stance in all forms of Taekwondo.
