LEARN TO PIVOT. Coach Cedric Carter teaches how to pivot. Pivot is a very important skill in the game of basketball. This fundamental skill is mastered by some of the greatest players In the game. You can use these pivot moves to get a good shot off, make a strong dribble move or create a good passing lane. The front pivot is used when you are pivoting towards your defender.

One foot will be used as your base foot while your other foot is available to move around while keeping your base foot on the ground. The reverse pivot is used in the same way, the difference is that you will be pivoting away from your defender.
