VOLLEY LIKE A PRO - Winning Soccer Skills. Virginia State Cup Champion and U15 Boca Head Coach Tyler Cornelio demonstrates a drill to master volleys in 3 different progressions in this soccer training video. Two players stand across from each other, and one tosses the ball to the other. The receiving player starts by volleying the ball back to their partner's hands using the inside of their foot. Next, they ...use their laces to volley it back. Finally, they use two touches, either laces or instep, to first control the ball in the air and then to volley it back. Players should focus on keeping their eyes on the ball, staying balanced on their planted foot, and locking the ankle of their volleying foot to have firm contact on the ball when playing it back. This soccer drill helps improve general ball control, receiving, first touch, and volleys. It makes a great warmup and start to any practice, and for any ages 10+ at any skill levels. From youth soccer to professional soccer teams, variations of this drill have a place in any team's practice.
