OUTSIDE OF THE FOOT PASS - Winning Passing Skills for Ages 6+. Tyler Cornelio, USSF Certified Coach, U15 Boca Head Coach, and former Virginia State Cup Champion, describes how to learn and master the outside of the foot pass in this football training video. Two players stand across from each other, both standing in a gate created by two cones. Players will pass back and forth, aiming for their teammate ...inside the gate. First, players will control with the inside of their foot and pass with the outside. In the next progression, players control with the outside and pass with the outside. When passing with the outside of the foot, players should lock their ankle and connect with the ball above their pinky toe. Players should practice this technique with both feet. The outside of the foot pass provides another method of passing in a football game, allowing players to quickly pass the ball in certain situations where they might have to rotate their body in order to pass with the inside of their foot. This football drill will help players be more versatile and become better passers. It is worth learning for all football positions, from defenders to midfielders to forwards.
