FREE THROW SHOOTING ROUTINE. Great free throw shooters have a consistent pre-shot routine. Learn what former NBA player, Mark Strickland, and former WNBA player, Toccara Williams, did when they played at the games highest level. No matter what you do before shooting your free throw shot, you want to make sure that you are aligned with the basket, meaning that you want to have your shooting hand and foot on an invisible direct line from the middle of the basket to your top shooting foot. For example, if you are right handed, you want your right foot and ...right hand to be on an invisible string directly from the middle of the basket to your right foot, for left handed players do the opposite. After this is established you want your other foot to be slightly behind, but shoulder with apart from your shooting foot for your balance. Regardless of the routine you use before the shot, you want to get the ball back to your shooters pocket, explode up on your toes, extend up to the basket. The key to being a great free throw shooter is routine and repetition. Let us help you develop yours!
