SportsEdTV Names Rick Foker as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer
Miami, May 17, 2020 - SportsEdTV has named Rick Foker as Executive Vice President – Special Projects and Chief Legal Officer. In his 25-plus-year career, Foker has advised, invested in, and managed a wide range of companies, from startups to global public corporations, and has most recently served as Chief Legal Officer of Los Angeles-based private equity firm Hancock Park Associates. He joined SportsEdTV as an investor in its recently closed Series A funding round and also sits on the company’s Board of Directors.
“Rick brings a useful skillset and perspective to a company at our stage of development,” said SportsEdTV Co-Founder and Chairman, Robert Mazzucchelli. He added, “Many of the growth initiatives we will undertake with talent, sponsors, licensees and partners in the coming years will require well-honed legal and deal-making perspective. Content businesses, especially global ones, can require complex agreements and contracts, and there can be minefields to avoid. Rick is an expert in finding the right structures and solutions for navigating the minefields.”

Foker brings a wealth of business, legal, and investing experience to SportsEdTV. He began his career as a securities and transactional lawyer, focusing on public offerings and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital. He left private practice to handle transactions in-house for a large multinational corporation, then became a partner and Chief Legal Officer of Hancock Park Associates, a position he held for many years before starting his own investment firm. For the last decade, Foker has been private equity and venture capital investor in a variety of industries, serving in the board, executive, and legal capacities for his portfolio companies.
