Dear SportsEdTV community,

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed Director of Weightlifting, Mr. Harvey Newton, on March 29, 2023. Our hearts go out to Harvey's family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege to learn from his wisdom and experience.

Harvey Newton was an invaluable member of our online coaching team, bringing with him decades of hard-earned knowledge and expertise. His dedication, persistence, and unwavering power of will were an inspiration to all who crossed his path. Harvey's incredible career speaks volumes about his qualifications and his commitment to the sport of weightlifting.

With accomplishments that include serving as the head coach for the USA Olympic Weightlifting Team in 1984, being the first national coach of the USA Weightlifting team (1981-1984), and receiving the Senior International Coach status in 1987, Harvey's legacy in the sport is indisputable. As a featured lecturer on International Olympic Committee Solidarity courses and a key member of the NBC-Sports weightlifting team during the 1996-2016 Olympic Games, Harvey's impact reached far beyond our own platform.

At SportsEdTV, we were honored to have Harvey Newton as a vital part of our weightlifting program. His ability to address a wide range of issues faced by athletes, along with his pragmatic approach, made him an irreplaceable asset to our community. He leaves behind a powerful legacy, and his teachings will continue to inspire generations of weightlifters to come.

In memory of Harvey Newton, we will remain dedicated to providing world-class online video instructions to help athletes test their limits and achieve their goals. We encourage everyone in our community to carry on Harvey's passion for the sport and to honor his memory by striving for excellence in all aspects of weightlifting.

We invite all members of the SportsEdTV community and beyond to join us in paying tribute to a remarkable individual who has made a lasting impact on the world of weightlifting.

We will continue to uphold the high standards of coaching that Harvey Newton brought to SportsEdTV, and we remain committed to supporting our community in their weightlifting journeys. As we navigate this difficult time, let us remember the lessons Harvey imparted, his passion for the sport, and the countless lives he has touched.

Rest in peace, Harvey Newton. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of the athletes you have inspired.
